President Xi Jinping Arrives in Bali Island, Indonesia for APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting

On 5 October 2013, President Xi Jinping arrived in Bali Island, Indonesia to attend the upcoming 21st AEPC Economic Leaders' Meeting.

Around 17:15 local time, Xi Jinping's special plane arrived at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport. Xi Jinping and Mme. Peng Liyuan were greeted by Mari Elka Pangestu, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, and Made Mangku Pastika, Governor of Bali.

Other delegation members including Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu and Yang Jiechi arrived by the same plane.

Liu Jianchao, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia also received the delegation at the airport.

The current APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting with the theme of "Resilient Asia-Pacific, Engine of Global Growth" will focus discussions on topics including attaining the Bogor Goals, sustainable growth with equity and connectivity in the Asia-Pacific. Xi Jinping will deliver an important speech. During the meeting, Xi Jinping will as well attend the closing ceremony of the APEC CEO Summit and deliver a keynote speech, attend the dialogue between APEC leaders and representatives of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), and meet with leaders of some member countries.

Xi Jinping visited Bali Island after concluding the state visit to Malaysia. Upon the departure from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, Minister of Health Subramaniam Sathasivam and others bid farewell at the airport.
