Premier Li Keqiang Meets with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn of Thailand, Stressing to Carry Forward the "China-Thailand Familial Affection" from Generation to Generation

On the morning of 12 October 2013, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met at the Thai Royal Palace with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn, representative of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand. Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra accompanied during the meeting.

Li Keqiang first conveyed the cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and members of the royal family. He expressed that China and Thailand enjoy cultural affinity and close exchanges, with even more affectionate feelings for each other. The Thai royal family has made long-time important contributions to pushing forward China-Thailand friendship and to promoting the understanding and friendship between both peoples. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn has visited China quite a number of times and personally pushed forward bilateral cooperation in culture, education and other fields. She has actively joined in China's charity cause and is the "Ambassador of Friendship of the People" between the two countries.

Li Keqiang expressed that at present China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has entered a new period of development. The Chinese government attaches great importance to developing relations with Thailand. China is ready, in accordance with the development strategies of the two countries, to push for new breakthroughs in cooperation in major fields so as to unceasingly inject fresh impetus into China-Thailand relations and to carry forward the "China-Thailand familial affection" from generation to generation.

Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn expressed, I am very glad to meet with Premier Li on behalf of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. She extended warm welcome to Premier Li for the visit and conveyed the greetings from the King to President Xi Jinping. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn expressed congratulations for the full success of Premier Li's visit to Thailand, noting that the Thai royal family attaches great importance to Thailand-China relations and supports the Thai government for strengthening all-dimensional practical cooperation with China. She herself has visited China for 30-plus times and cherishes special feelings towards China. She expressed sincere congratulations for China's economy being more developed, the society more advanced and the "Thailand-China familial affection" more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

Li Keqiang as well met with Thai Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda the same day.
