On the morning of Oct. 12th, local time, Premier Li Keqiang and Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra jointly attended the opening ceremony of a Chinese high-speed railway exhibition at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.

The two prime ministers first cut the ribbon for the Chinese high-speed railway exhibition, and then jointly stepped into the exhibition hall to watch a video, introducing achievements of China's high-speed railway construction, and a photo exhibition. Standing at the center of the exhibition hall was a large display board, bearing the bilingual characters "Chinese High-Speed Railway Exhibition" in Chinese and Thai, and the photo of a white Chinese "Harmony" high-speed train on the display board especially stood out.

The two prime ministers talked with each other while looking around, and stopped before the display board and the Chinese "Harmony" high-speed train model from time to time. A person in charge from the China Railway Corporation introduced that the current more-than-11-hour train ride for the 678-kilometer distance from Bangkok to Chiang Mai could be shortened to three hours with China's high-speed railway technology. Yingluck Shinawatra showed a keen interest in it.

Li Keqiang said to Yingluck Shinawatra that China has attained advanced technology for building safe and reliable high-speed railways at competitive costs. Yingluck Shinawatra introduced to Li Keqiang Thailand's high-speed railway development plan and its role in building regional connectivity.

Li Keqiang stressed that the enhanced railway cooperation between China and Thailand will not only promote the infrastructure construction and the economic and social development of Thailand, but also help the two countries achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, thus benefiting the people of the two countries, and making contributions to regional connectivity construction.

Yingluck Shinawatra lauded China's achievement on high-speed railways, and welcomed Chinese enterprises to actively take part in the construction of high-speed railways in Thailand.

The Chinese high-speed railway exhibition, sponsored by China Railway Corporation, is aimed at further strengthening Thai public understanding of China's high-speed railway technology, and at promoting bilateral railway cooperation.
