On the morning of 14 October local time, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met in Hanoi with President Truong Tan Sang of Vietnam and attended the welcome luncheon hosted by Truong Tan Sang. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam, was present.

Li Keqiang conveyed the cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping to Truong Tan Sang. Truong Tan Sang expressed gratitude and recalled happily his meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang during the state visit to China at invitation in June this year. He as well asked Li Keqiang to convey the cordial greetings and good wishes to President Xi Jinping.

Li Keqiang said that China and Vietnam enjoy profound traditional friendship and the development of the two countries represents opportunities for each other. During my current visit, I reached new consensus with Viennese leaders on deepening China-Vietnam relations and the two countries also signed a series of cooperation documents and agreements. Hope both sides will, bearing the big picture, work together to effectively implement the consensus. Especially pushing forward maritime, onshore and financial cooperation in parallel between the two countries will show to the two peoples, neighbouring countries and the world that China and Vietnam absolutely have the ability and wisdom to overcome difficulties and properly manage differences so as to push for substantive progress of bilateral cooperation and to consolidate the foundation of the common interests of the two countries. China is ready to work with Vietnam to forge ahead in the overall direction of bilateral relations in order to promote greater development of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Truong Tan Sang extended warm welcome to Li Keqiang for the visit. He said that Vietnam and China are friendly neighbours and are both socialist countries. Vietnam highly values relations with China and is ready to further uplift the level of bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation. The Vietnamese party and government are deeply satisfied with the outcomes of Premier Li Keqiang's visit. Both sides have reached important consensus on advancing maritime, onshore and financial cooperation in parallel. It is a general way of thinking for promoting bilateral cooperation in the new period and is believed to bring about great development of Vietnam-China relations. The Vietnamese side has great determination and confidence to effectively implement relevant consensus to push forward bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a higher level.
