Exclusive Interviews Given by Secretary-General of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association Chen Kai to Chinese and Foreign Media

In the evening of 24 March 2014, Chen Kai, Secretary-General of China Arms Control and Disarmament Association, gave exclusive interviews to media organizations including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television respectively at the Press Center of the Chinese Delegation for the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) 2014, in which he gave in-depth analysis on President Xi Jinping's attendance at the NSS and an approach to nuclear security put forward by President Xi that is sensible, coordinated and balanced.

Chen Kai said that it was the first time for a Chinese leader to put forward an approach to nuclear security featuring equal emphasis on development and security, rights and obligations, independent and collective efforts and treating symptoms and addressing causes as well as make solemn pledges on four areas related to nuclear security. Chen pointed out that this showed China's commitment to addressing major issues in global security and governance as a responsible major country and its important and active role in effectively preventing nuclear terrorism, improving nuclear security in the world and achieving lasting nuclear security.

Chen Kai also gave an exclusive interview to Radio France Internationale on March 24 and talked about China's nuclear security policies and its contribution to promoting nuclear security in the world.
